Experiences With Driving in The UK

Smith · November 26, 2018 · Leave a Comment

To discover some of the most talked about road trips in the UK as well as a few tyre safety tips and tips on identifying your unique driver personality, simply continue reading.

The best road trips in the UK:

1. Snake Pass, England

Snake Pass snakes its way through England’s Peak District and is famed for its stunning views of the National Trust’s beautiful High Peak Estate. If you’re not afraid of tight, twisting roads, it’s definitely worth completing Snake Pass, which starts in Sheffield and ends in Manchester on your bucket list.

2. Abergwesyn Pass, Wales

Abergwesyn Pass showcases gorgeous mountains and lush forests and features long straights, sharp hairpins, steep ascents, and beautiful historic bridges. So if you’re keen on exploring Wale’s countryside it’s well worth taking on Abergwesyn Pass, on your next driving holiday.

3. Cheddar Gorge, England

Cheddar Gorge is well worth completing as you’ll be treated to views of picturesque limestone cliffs. Which have to be seen to be believed! As Cheddar Gorge features fewer hairpins and sharp turns than Snake Pass and Abergwesyn Pass, it’s a suitable drive for all levels of drivers.

Car tyre safety tips:

1. Don’t travel long distances on a spare tyre

Spare tyres are only designed to be driven from your current whereabouts to your mechanic or tyre specialist and aren’t designed to be driven for long periods of time.

2. Make sure to check the pressure of each of your tyres on a regular basis

No matter how busy you get, it’s a wise idea to check the pressure of each of your tyres on a regular basis.

3. Make sure that your car is equipped with the right type of tyres

As an example, if you plan on driving through the English countryside you may want to fit all terrain tyres, which offer plenty of grip for off-road conditions. Tyre safety is important. You can check test your knowledge here.

Identifying your driver personality:

1. Always in a rush

If you find that you’re willing to drive faster than the speed limit in order to get to your destination faster and frequently undertake risky moves such as overtaking other cars at high speed, your driver personality may be best defined as always in a rush.

2. Cool, calm and collected

If you’re a rather calm driver and put your safety and the safety of other drivers first, your driver personality may be cool, calm and collected.

3. Social driver

If you frequently communicate with other individuals when you drive either through text messages or calls or talking to your travel companions, you may be best defined as a social driver.

If you self-identify as a social driver ensure that you focus on the road, in order to make the best possible decisions as a driver, instead of being totally engrossed in the conversations which you may be having with your friends and family members!

Hopefully after reading the article above you now have a few road trip ideas stored in your brain as well as a few tips on tyre safety and how to drive safely by keeping your driver personality in mind! Remember that you should also book your mot before you hit the road!
