There’s no lack of advice for new mothers. There’s plenty of advice to consider from best-selling parenting books, well-meaning relatives and friends, and even random people on the street. Combining through the avalanche of data that bombardes you may be a difficult task—how do you determine who to trust and who to (respectfully) ignore? Motherhood, as we all know, does not come with a manual. It does, however, serve as basis, knowledge, and guidance from other women who understand what you’re going through, so it’s a close second.
Always Ask for Help
There is no shame in asking for help. Ask for (or accept) help with groceries, food preparation, or cleaning in the early days of lack of sleep or recuperating following birth. When my mother and sister came to visit during the first weeks of my son’s existence, my house looked immaculate! Relatives want to enjoy the new baby but don’t want constant entertainment.
Eat Healthy
There are a lot of toxins present out there, from meals and personal care items to cleaning materials and infant toys. You can arm yourself with the information about what’s best for you and your kid based on the current research by conducting some short study on sites. Start eating healthy fruits and vegetables. Make your diet with good protein.
Don’t Stress Yourself while Breastfeeding
Yes, there are a lot of moments when you feel very stressed and anxious while breastfeeding. If your baby is very fussy and is always asking for nursing, do not stress out. Sometimes you will feel that you are not lactating enough or you will get confused if the baby is getting enough feed or not, do not stress out and check out a lactation consultant online where you can seek help regarding all your lactation related queries.
Sleep Well
No matter how pressurised you are or how many tasks are still left to do, do not compromise on your sleep at all. Take a good sleep to make your mind relaxed from all the chaos and challenges you are having in these early mom days. Sleeping helps a lot. Just find the right time to take naps. Try to sleep with the baby because that is the only time you will be free from the fear of your baby creating a mess.
Meditation
It’s alright. Every mother is overwhelmed when a lot is going on. Meditate. Meditation actually helps a lot with stress and anxiety. Try to make some time for yourself in the morning and do some yoga. Try some relaxed positions and help yourself to get through this situation. Meditation will not only freshen your mind and soul, but will also make you physically active and fresh. Try to do yoga in the early morning to make your whole day active.
Every infant and family is different, so figure out what works best for you and ignore the rest. Nobody saves your small family unit and will criticize your decisions, so don’t stress about attempting to please everyone. Try to be as stress free as you can and enjoy this very little time of yours with your newly born baby, because this time would never come back.
