It’s only a matter of time before everyone can get back to work. After several months of working from home, the employees will finally have a chance to see their colleagues. While it’s good news for some, it’s not for others. There are benefits to working in a normal work environment, but there are also a few downsides. Some employees feel more pressured to do a better job in an office. They’re also more productive when working from home. Therefore, you should find a way to create a relaxed work environment.
Don’t overwhelm everyone with tasks
You might immediately give your employees plenty of tasks to finish. It’s a big no. Give them time to adjust. You’re also in the same stage. You can’t expect your employees to be productive right away. Gradually increase the tasks after a while.
Provide optional wellness training
Working from home might be good, but it also adversely impacted people’s mental health. Some of your employees experienced mental health problems as a result of the lockdowns. Now that places are opening up, it’s another adjustment phase. Not everyone feels comfortable going back to normal again. Try to organize wellness training and programmes. It allows people to relax even if there’s a drastic change in the environment. Of course, you have to make it an optional activity since not everyone feels comfortable doing it.
Start fun activities and events
Provide an opportunity for your employees to enjoy. You can start a game in the office that requires everyone to participate. You can also work with a company that offers a funfair stall for hire. During this funfair day, no one will talk about work. You will have fun with rides and food booths. It’s an opportunity to get to know each other better. It also strengthens the team’s bond.
Be available when your employees want to talk to you
Employees are most relaxed when they have a wonderful boss. The best way to make them feel good about you is by being available all the time. If they want to talk to you about something, you should open your doors. It’s better to allow your employees to discuss things with you. Some of them might not have the courage and decide to leave the business. You don’t want the best employees to leave. While there’s an opportunity to discuss different matters, you should do it.
It takes time for your employees to adjust, and you have to understand it. No one expected this pandemic to happen. However, the truth is that even before this pandemic, many employees weren’t too comfortable with the regular work environment. It might be time to make some adjustments to give everyone a chance to relax. You might want to force everyone to be productive, but it starts with being in a good working environment. If you can’t help in this regard, your employees will have a hard time coping up.
